Should HIV positive healthcare workers have to disclose their status to employers?

There is a reasonable expectation that people affected by HIV/AIDS might be able to experience both reduced mortality and morbidity thanks to developments in antiretroviral medicines – which now mean the disease no longer has to be a life sentence. And within social and political environments there has been a strong emphasis on human rights, particularly in relation to discrimination.

But often this debate is influenced more by emotions than science.
