An article I wrote recently on BSN as the entry-level educational standard created hundreds of responses. While there were opposing points of view—and at times, very heated discussions—there was a common thread. All nurses agreed that continued development was not only important. It was on the top of the list for nurses.
Given the growing demands for nurses, everyone agreed that professional development helped to develop complex clinical skills and competencies. Nursing school only prepares nurses to function at the most basic level.
