7 Common Job Hunting Mistakes Nurses Should Avoid

nursing jobGetting a job right now isn’t so easy, even for experienced nurses. Avoid these few things and you may find yourself getting that call we have all been waiting for to set up an interview!

  1. Applying for jobs that you’re not qualified for
“Well, I technically don’t have 5 years of experience in that specific area but all of my other experience should count.” A lot of times recruiters will look at the minimum requirements and skip right by yours if you don’t meet them. Make sure you apply for jobs in which you meet the qualifications fully.
  2. Not having great references
If you only have two coworkers as your references, that does not wow anyone. Get a reference from a physician, a NP/PA, your previous managers, or someone in a leadership position.
