3 Necessary Items All Nurses Should Have for a Healthier Life

3-Necessary-Items-All-Nurses-Should-Have-for-a-Healthier-LifeAs nurses, we take care of so many people. From our patients and their families to our professional colleagues, we show up with a giving nature in the workplace. Then we go home, and guess what? Yup, it doesn’t end.

We watch over our children, take care of our spouses, and contribute to our communities. A nurse’s ‘work’ never seems to end. I imagine each and every nurse out there, at one time or another, falls into the trap of over-do-it.

Raising my hand here too. In fact, during the holidays I often get no sleep as I make sure all of my guests are full and comfortable. One summer as I participated in a walk for suicide prevention, I didn’t hydrate my own self as I was looking out for the other walks. Gosh, on my own unit I almost passed out one time during walk rounds with the physician. I hadn’t eaten and was so concerned with making sure everyone else had what they needed!
